Scottish Young Carers Festival 2026 - Carers Voice Survey

Thank you for taking part in this year’s Carers Voice Survey!

Whether or not you’re coming to the Scottish Young Carers Festival, it’s really important that Carers Trust Scotland hears your views and understands what matters most to you as a young carer.

This short survey does two things:

First, it helps us listen to your feedback on key topics, making sure our work reflects your needs, experiences, and priorities. We use this to shape our projects and to share with the Scottish Government, so they can better understand and respond to the experiences of young carers across Scotland.

Second, your answers will help shape our consultation activities at the Festival. Based on your feedback in recent years, we’re trying something a bit different - these questions are more open so we can explore the most important issues in more detail together at the Festival.

But haven’t you asked some of these questions before?

Yes - and we know that can sometimes feel frustrating. But it’s important for a couple of reasons.

First, asking similar questions each year helps us understand what’s getting better and what might be getting harder for young carers over time. It also helps us spot new and emerging priorities.

Second, while we act on what you tell us, some of the bigger challenges take time to change. Keeping this information up to date helps us keep pushing for that change.

Thank you again for sharing your views!

(Your responses cannot be linked to you / they are anonymous)
1.Where in Scotland do you stay?(Required.)
2.How do you identify?(Required.)
3.What is your current stage of education?(Required.)

6.How old were you when someone identified you as a young carer and linked you into support (e.g. referred to your young carers service, identified in school)?
